I have been a fly-fisherman all of my life and have recently (4 months) gotten hooked on fly-fishing for trout. I have a lot to learn and I realize this, I would love to get together with some folks one Saturday and spend the day fishing and learning, or even just sit around one evening after work and talk fishing (of course we would all rather be on the water). If there are any generous souls out there your help would be appreciated. The help is not needed in casting but more on stuff like fly selection and learning some of the general rules on fishing for trout. Many thanks!

Rookie,

Soon as a date and location is set for the NGTO Fall Fling, mark your calender! You'll learn more in those few hours than you will learn elsewhere.

Welcome Rookie, you have come to the right place, information abounds at this site. I myself started out flyfishing with no intention of ever casting to a trout, but after that first small stocker things changed and I can't get enough trout fishing. You might want to look in General information for info on the GSMNP get together on Oct. 1 if you can make it, should be some really good trout fishing and some really great company.

Hi fellow feather flinger, Welcome aboard. There is a wealth of info on this board. If you are unable to connect with anyone find me on AIM or call me at 315-478-9588. I will be happy to talk flyfishing and share what little info I have. Sometimes I feel like we should be asking the fish what we are doing wrong, but I will help all I can.

Welcome !!

WOW! I had know idea that I had tapped into such a visited site, thaks to all for your responses. Anytime anyone is going out to do some fishing and does not mind a little company let me know. Thanks again. Rod, I live in Buckhead just off of Howell Mill rd. on Collier Rd. AT any rate I am to far from the trout.

I fish Island Ford quite frequently and would love to have you join me...I usually fish on thursday afternoons...I see that you do the weekends but, trust me, fishing is better during the week! I'd be happy to have you join me next week, if you don't mind another feller...he goes with me every week and is pretty new himself....we both work within proximity of IF but live in North Gwinnett. IF is near 285 and 400. Let me know if you are able...if not, perhaps I can twist my wife's arm for a Sat. or Sun outing.

Weekday fishing keeps the peace at home as well!
