2 quick questions for you guys:
1) What is the optimum temp range for trout (in celsius)?
2) A few months back a couple of float fisherman gave my son a couple of lures. They were fish shaped spoons and the only marking on them were the name "phoebe". They fished very well and I have never been able to find anymore like them in the store. Anyone heard of them?

1. typically 10-17 degrees. It varies. Trout can acclimate to steady lower temps, as in a bottom draw dam. Much above 20 and there are problems with oxegen content. (The quick-and-dirty formula to convert is double the celsius and add 30)
2. donno, but it sounds interesting.

Those "fish-shaped" Phoebe spoons have been around for more than 30 years and are very popular for trout in the Northeast. Brownies love 'em. Haven't seen them for sale around here. I have several in a couple of different sizes. I even have a couple of cheap imitations in silver. Did you check Cabela's?
