Just ordered Handcrafting A Graphite Fly Rod by L.A. Garcia, I hope someone out there will tell me that it's easier to learn to build a rod out of a book than it was to learn to tie flies out of a book.

Follow the instructions carefully. Don't use too much epoxy. Don't use too much flex coat. Take your time. Carefully align your guides, and you will do fine.
