Yeah, That is where I pick up my gl****beads which by the way, seem to work really well. You cannot always find the sizes you want, but you can buy in massive bulk.

The problem I've had with beads from craft stores (at least the ones I've visited) is that the beads are straight-drilled and not taper-drilled. This forces me to use larger beads than I would like. Beads from a fly shop or catalog have holes that are larger on one end, allowing a more appropriately sized bead to round the bend of the hook. If you find a store with tapered beads, email me the location please.

Loren -- several months ago I picked up a bunch of br****beads with tapered holes at JoAnnes Fabrics and Crafts in Tallahassee. Don't know if that's local or a chain. Bought 'em in bulk at a fraction of the price I've bought them from Cabela's.

I've used the beads from the craft store and I've used the beads from regular sources. The craft beads are usually plastic. These look fine, a little harder to get on the hook, but the main things is don't count on them to add significant weight to your fly. They are LIGHT.
