Waders for Wife

Any suggestions for reasonable (Cheap) waders for my wife. I am going to try and teach her how to FF. ( Not that I know how to)

Orvis is discontinuing their Clearwater Breathable line for a new line. Big discounts at the store on these. I love them, and even before they were on sale, they were a great price.

My wife would rather read in her hammock while I fish so I haven't had to worry about finding her any waders. However, being a cheapskate, I've opted for Cabela's lightweight nylon/neoprene stockingfoot waders at $29.95. They're perfect for moderately cold water and sweatpants provide great insulation for really cold water. I use them with shorts at water temps from about 52 degrees up. The nylon covering looks good and protects the neoprene coating. I've used them for three years and they still look like new. No problems with leaks though I've walked through a lot of brush and briars. "Course you'll need wading shoes/boots, but tennypumps work fine if you're not working on slick rocks. Cabela's also has some reasonably priced wading shoes/boots in canvas either in felt or rubber soles at about $30-$35. Also see my post elsewhere about buying Sportsman's Guide overstocked/discontinued canvas boots. Think it's on the felt sole topic. Some really good bargains for good canvas boots there and though not really wading boots, they are better quality at much lower prices than any of the fishing outfitters.

Take it from a voice of experience; get your wife some good quality, comfortable waders (ie. dry and cool in summer/warm in winter.) Her happiness is directly proportional to the amount of time your allowed to spend on the stream http://www.georgia-outdoors.com/ubbngto/wink.gif
