OK, just looked at your web page - favorite fly this time, huh? Sounds good to me - count me in. How about an "American Express". Will do 'em in several diffrent color combinations - thats one of the great things about that pattern its mighty versatile.
Steve D.
KB,
I am interested in doing the swap but I have a couple of ?s. Lets say the you get twenty people by the 20th of September, how long would we have to do them. Also, when we send in the twenty flies, do you ship the others back in a crush-proof container, if so how do we include a Self addressed stamped box? Thanks, and I look forward to entering, not sure what but probally a humpy of some sort.
p.s they may not look like the ones sold in the store, but they fool the natives and thats all that matters.
------------------
Here's how it works:
We'll say that 20 people enter.
Each person will tie 20 flies of a pattern of their choice.
Then, each person will mail the swap-meister (me) their 20 flies in a crush-proof container. An Altoids can works perfectly.
Put the flies(in the box) into an envelope along with another envelope that is self addressed and stamped, and mail it to me. Some people just mail me a self addressed envelope along with $1 for return postage. That is fine too, but please be sure to send an extra envelope self addressed.
Once I receive all of the flies, I will mail back to each person one fly from each player. You will receive them in the box, and the self addrssed envelope you provided me. Postage one-way usually costs about $0.77. $1.54 for 20 hand-tied flies aint a bad deal! http://www.georgia-outdoors.com/ubbngto/smile.gif
That is all there is to it.
The only thing I ask is if you say you are going to participate, please dont bail out at the last minute or be late on mailing me your flies.
Also, if everyone will E-MAIL me the recipe, I will post it on the swap page. Its a great way to learn new patterns, and see different ways to tie some of the 'ole standbys.
Once I think who all wants to enter has entered, I will e-mail everyone how many flies to tie, the deadline, and where to mail them to.
Check the Swap page for more details.

Oh yeah,
For those of you who may be worried about your tying abilities, don't worry about it. Just like ALG said, "they may not look like the ones sold in the store, but they fool the natives and thats all that matters." Thats the point of hand tied flies aint it?
Have Fun!

KB,
When is the deadline? I'd love to participate but I need some time to gather supplies and practice since I am a rookie tier.
Dont fret about the deadline. Youve got plenty of time. I'll let everyone know as soon as I get a good idea of how many are going to participate.
Do me a favor and send me an e-mail if you want to join in.

I have to find out what everybody's secret weapon is!
I'll show you mine if you show me yours... http://www.georgia-outdoors.com/ubbngto/smile.gif
EHC/DHC is taken, but my Parachute Adams is
always worth a drift.
Fin is in!

KB,
I think I am going to tie a BWO cripple. I haven't used this pattern here but it was very effective out west. I was wondering if anyone has ever used it around here? Thanks,
ALG
I got ya down for the BWO Cripple.
I've never fished it before but I've had plenty-o-luck with BWO's. It'll be a nice choice to have in the fly box.

I think I'm in for this one. Don't know what to tie...maybe a hopper pattern of some sort. I'll email you soon as I make up my mind.
Milliam
KB, My email is out of commission. I'll have to stay tuned to NGTO, and your site for updates.
I got you down Milliam. A hopper would be nice. We hav'nt had one yet.
Fin, just be sure to to drop me a line when your e-mail is back up. I just need it so I can send out updated info on the swap; ie, how many flies to tie, where to mail them to, and when they are due. No strings attached, I assure you.
This swap is looking like it could be the biggest one yet. Any other players?
Would'nt it be cool if we ended up with a whole lotta players?
There are still plenty of spots at the tyin' table left. Who else is in?!!
KB
I guess its time I got off my rear and did a little tying, count me in KB. E-mail is on the way.

Ok gang, for my first swap I'm gonna keep it simple. I'll start with my version of a wooly bugger. I posted some time back about trying to fix the spinning problem of wb's. The ole man suggested adding weight. It does help. I also added a second hackle tied in the oppsite direction from the first. This does not totally eliminate spin, but reduces it to almost nothing.
My question is..what size and color is prefered? These will be bead head and lead weight added. I like size 6 in black or olive. I throw them with a 6wt so the large size and weight is managable. I know a lot of you are using smaller weight rigs and I would be glad to down size to 8 or 10. I'd even be willing to tie different sizes for diff folks.
They may not be pretty be Aaron will attest to the fact that big fish will bite them.
Let me know. Ich

Hey swappers,
I'm going to start tying #8 WB's. If you want a smaller or larger size email me and I'll put your name on it when I send them in. I wouldn't want anyone to have a fly they don't want to use.
