IMHO, the ONLY way we will ever be able to stop the destruction of our national parks and wilderness areas is to limit, (NOT eliminate) human activity within their borders.
Some of you may say that would be an infringment of your personal "rights"? Well what about the rights of our children and grandchildren? I guess snowmobiling today is more important than preservation for tomorrow.
I can only imagine what the GSMNP looked like just 50 years ago. But with that said, I also fear what it will look like just 50 years from now.
