I'm heading over to JB today around 10ish. It looks like the water should be good by then. I have a green Maxima and my Texas fishing hat... look for the guy hung up in the bushes, that'll be me. Hope to see ya'll there!

What's your report deltaflyer? What were the conditions like?

Howdy Steve, The water was real nice... got in just as the water finished receding from last nights draw, a little off but still enough visibilty to see your way around and also see a few of those missed strikes. Caught a couple of SNITs but saw some other fellas doing pretty well. SlckTrck and W. Don were there, both looked like they were catching fish. Didn't lose any flies, wrecked one leader, found a spinning rod on the bottom, missed more fish than I could count, and had a great day. I should have called you but I didn't know till this AM I was going to be cleared to fish. I can't wait for the fall! The float tube/pontoon question may be resolved soon as the CFO has authorized me to proceed. Going to the beach next weekend but after that lets go fish!!! Adios amigo!

Nice to to meet you and Don this morning. I was actually looking for another member that was going to be fishing up there, but ran into you fine gentlemen.
Don, I sure thank you for putting me on those two nice browns. Delta, ya should have come down closer to us. They were stacked up around the island.

See ya on the water...

It was the highlight of my day, nay, the highlight of my fly-fishing summer, to meet the legendary fishers, delta_flyer and SlckTrck. You all can imagine how thrilled ... big whoop. I did enjoy your company and seeing y'all catch trout. (They really did, folks!)

But it was tough fishing with the bright sky and dingy water. Seems my go-to fly this year has been the copper John with tungsten beadhead. It was furrfly who advsed me to go real deep with tungsten.

Hope how soon the River clears up and some hatches start coming off. The high water has taken a toll on the River bottom and critters living thereon.

And I hope to meet up with you guys again soon to share some good water.

Cheers,

Hey Mr Newton, were you the guy Fly fishing below the island on Saturday am? I was in the Trout Traps float tube. Talked with you as soon as I got out at the canoe launch, then fished with you for a while below the island. I saw two other FF making there way around the island, I bet it was SLCKTRCK and Delta. Sorry I missed you guys.

On my way out I ran into Firewalker and Werfur. They were just getting started, asked me to come along, but I could not stay any longer.

Did pretty well, BHP was the fly for me, tried throwing a foam beetle against the shore, but no luck. Oh well, a beautiful day on the water, I think I am going to go again this Monday around 5, if anyone wants to join me......

'Twas I, Caddis_Fly_1. It was a good day, albeit slow on the catching. We are so fortunate to have the HOOCH in a troutable condition year round. I am eager to see what the fall brings. Hope to see you out there again real soon ... maybe tomorrow evening. But the River has a lot of clearing up to do.

Cheers,

Good to see all this weekend. Well we had a great day and thanks to Bill it turned out to be very productive. His dropper system was deadly. Nice 15 inch brown!!! Ran into FlyAway on the way up from Sunset. How did Dixie fish Jim? All in all we caught around 30 fish in just over four hours. Man was Sunset fishing awesome!

Fished at the Judge and Dixie on Saturday...Slooow is the word...Thanks to Luke and werfur for the orange crush fly...I tried it down at dixie, had a few soft bites and then I decided to try the hole (you know which one luke), I didn't get a look at what took it but I was into my backing before it broke off!! What a rush...course it would have been better if I could have brought it in... but still. Changed to dries after that and brought in several on a Royal Wulff. When all was said and done, it was a pretty good day.
