Do you mind being seen with a Dark Sider? I might christen a new minnow to celebrate the new year. I would have to stay on the 'Hooch tho.

Bum, keep me posted, I might want to tag along...depends on how late WSP plays!
Not sure what I'm doing yet. Friend has to take family to airport so if I wait on him, I wont hit the water till noon. If he bails, dawn till dusk http://www.georgia-outdoors.com/ubbngto/smile.gif See Jake, you could sleep in a little...lol
Belvedere, if I was you, I'd head to the dam after they quit the morning release. You would have the whole afternoon open there.. I might be there also if the water is high on the DH.. No raft race floats for me in that water http://www.georgia-outdoors.com/ubbngto/wink.gif

Upper part sounds good to me. Do you think I'd have a chance around Settles Bridge in the afternoon?
Anyone wanna witness the power of the Dark Side?

Just a word about the Dam, all parks have been closed. You will have to make the hike from downstream to get to the river.
So much for the dam...lol My friend lives in Olde Atlanta sub, so he has easy access to the SB area. We may well end up there..lol The water is fine to wade 3 hours after they stop the release.. Still be carefull for the next hour or 2 though... Water should be clear enough and the bite, well, ya never know in that area http://www.georgia-outdoors.com/ubbngto/wink.gif

Are all the parks closed or just those connected to the dam?

Everything but the big park with a manned pay booth up front. Probably easier to hike in from Island Ford Road or the sub. the Hatchery is in. Park at the swim/tennis and follow the trail, still quite a hike though.
I live in Wild Timber, a little upstream from Settles, and will be on the water early at one of those two.
and Happy New Year!

If you're asking about Jones Bridge, Island Ford, etc., those are open. The authorities just get touchy about the dam when security gets ratcheted up.
