I put together a float trip to Alaska every year. I have had a cancellation and have room for one more person. After seeing Bob's post and the responses he received, I thought I would see if anyone here was interested.

This is an unguided week long float trip down Alaska's Lake Creek river. I have chartered 2 "DHC Beavers" to haul all of our gear to Chelatna lake. We will be on the river for a week, and then get picked up at the mouth of the river. We will also spend a couple of days in Anchorage before and after the float.

The targeted river is Lake Creek. If there is one constant about Alaska, it is to plan for the unexpected. If weather conditions dictate that we float another river, it will probably be the Talchulitna. I have floated both, and they are great rivers for fishing, camping and rafting.

There is a lot of white water on this trip, class 3 and 4 rapids. It is an exciting float trip with some beautiful scenery. There will be a total of 6 of us on the trip. We will have 2 rafts, and 3 tents. You will need to be in good physical condition, as this is not a "comfy" guided trip and not for the faint of heart. I have all of the equipment. You will only need to bring a sleeping bag, cot, clothes, rain gear, and all of your fishing gear.

If you are interested, send me an email (mreeves@mreeves.net) and I will send you some more information. I live in Roswell and would be happy to meet to show more pictures and discuss the trip. The following link (www.mreeves.net) has some pictures from some of my previous trips. There is a captain's log from the last 2 trips that details the adventure.

Targeted Fish:
The first 2 to 3 days on the river, we will be catching trout, and maybe some reds if any are remaining. It will take us this long to float down to the Silver (Coho) Salmon. We should then be into "Silvers" for the rest of the trip.

Wow, your web site with all of the pictures is awesome! Those Kings are amazing looking. I can't imagine reeling one of those in on a fly rod.

Looks like Lake Creek was a blast. I'm sure that the river is much more demanding than the pictures reveal. By the looks of those fish, though, I'm sure it was worth it. I really enjoyed your Captain's Log too. Is that two bears in the trees of one of your pictures? Holy Cow!

And those trout are HUGE! It probably took a while for you to motivate yourself to get out on the hooch after getting back from that trip.

Your 2004 trip looks like the opportunity of a lifetime. I'll check with the president of our homestead, and get back to ya. I have got to find a way to get on that trip.

Later.
