This wisconsin weather has been driving me crazy...Really nothing to do besides ice fish...Then I remembered what I use to do in the winter..I would go below the local dam and cast with a large little cleo or daredevil and try for northerns...The CARP also school up below the dam in these bad conditions and about every other cast you would hook a carp...If you were really lucky you catch a northern who is hanging out eating small carp...I had a very large silver cleo on and was really hammering the carp..On one of my casts I noticed I had a follow of some kind..I thought probably a northern...I casted again and this time I saw the fish's side as it turned...It was right on the surface...It was a HUGE brown trout..MALE..I stopped casting...Season is closed for one...and if I caught it in such frigid weather it would have for sure died...I am guessing its length at 25 to 27 inches!!!Another day Mr. Brown Trout...Spinner..
