I had the great pleasure of visiting my Aunt and Uncle that live in Eastern Alberta, Cananda. I was 15 years old and having a great time. My uncle who is canandian took me to some little pond/lakes to catch walleye's and northen pike. Man do those fish fight up there. The pike were ranging from 3lbs to 7lb and the walleyes were about 2lbs to 4lb. Caught our limit of perch and took them home back to the house for a fish-fry. The highlight of the trip was when we headed west to British Columbia. We stayed in Baniff, which I cannot remember if that was in Alberta or B.C. Anyway, I have never seen wildlife like that before. Growing up in Athens, GA. I would see whitetails along the road but, never did I have to stop for a heard of 30+ Elk to cross. Un-real, I saw big-horned sheep, a black bear (from the car) you name it. I even got altitude sickness while hiking in the mountains. Hey, even caught a nice trout. We were fishing a wide stream that emptied into a mountain lake. Hooked up a Brownie that ran into the lake fighting like the pike in western Alberta. Man was he good with lemon pepper and fresh rosemary. This was only the second fish I have ever kept. I still dream about that trip and only wish I had a fly rod with me for those pike. Best fishing trip I have ever been on. That's my story. J. Byrd.
