View Full Version : Waters Creek
Went to Waters creek Sat with my daughters boyfriend, this was his second trip flyfishing for trout. I spotted a nice fish holding next to a log and had Jeremy cast to it, the fish chased a Prince nymph 4 or 5 feet but no hook up, next cast was a little close with an imediate hook up, nice 19 inch rainbow you should have seen the grin on that young mans face. We walked up to another hole and I caught three fish and Jeremy caught one more the smallest of these was 18 inches the largest 20. We walked almost to the top but didn't see any fish in the upper reaches so we headed back down stream. We stopped at a large silted up pool we had bypassed on the way up, Jeremy caught a 19 1/2 inch fish and I caught 5 more in excess of 18 inches including a large hook jawed male. You need to check this creek out before the fish wise up.

Teaching anyone to appreciate our sport is a wonderful thing, and the introduction of our daughter's boy friends to trout fishing is particularly prudent. As the father of two lovely daughters ages 20 and 23, I think keeping their suitors waist deep in icy cold streams for hours on end is a fine pre-date activity. And there is no point in a strong young man using neoprene waders - those are just for us old f__ts. :) jck
