All this talk about Carp and especially the post got about Carp on dries reminded of day two summers ago. A buddy and I were on lake Oconee b*** fishing. It was a good morning, not to hot yet and a little overcast, and a few b*** had hit topwater plugs. We came to a dock with a cutout in it for a boat to park in. I threw my tiny torpedo to the back of this cutout and started it out-plop plop-. I was sure I saw a boil or wake about halfway back. I told my bud to cut the trolling motor so I could get another shot at it. He likes to to fish fast so after my second cast produced the same almost unnoticable boil he says I'm just wishing it was a fish, he didn't see anything ,let's move on. I tossed back there as we were started to move a walah(notice I didn't say wham!!) fish on. It feels heavy and I got that rush of adreniline. Then I notice it aint fighting like a b***. You guessed it-- I hooked and landed a 6 lb carp on top water gear. There are a lot of ducks and geese fed bread off this point near this dock. Don't know if this stupid( can I say that about our new mascott) fish thought it was pickin up fast moving bread or what. Sure was ticked it wasn't a 6 lb b*** and took a ribbing about being a Carp fisher. Now I can be proud as a member of NGCO.-----(true story)
