Iowa trout fishing is on HOLD...Bring on the big NORTHERNS!!!!

That northern I had hit was just TOOOOOOOOOOO big...Went to Walmart tonight...Bought 20 pound test...30 pound leaders>>>>>>14 inches long<<<<<<< and some large...LARGE...northern lures...some suicks...huge spinners..size 14 jointed rapalas and a couple more colors of those big flat fish...Also got a couple big bobers...Going to float a big chub or sucker on one pole and cast with another...Wish me luck.....spinner....

Well...Went today...Caught ***SNAGGED*** one huge carp...Was fun fighting it...It would not surface for quite a while and I had visions of a 45 inch....25 pound northern on...Rude awakening...Just a big fat carp caught on the dorsal fin...i DID LOSE...(4) OF MY EXSPENSIVE big northern lures I bought....It is not so painful when I lose a 1.49 panther martin as it is to lose a 14.00 suick and a 9.00 jointed rapala..That carp sure was fun and really made my adrenalin and imagination run wild....spinner...
