Went to my favorite stretch of creek tonight...Thought I would hit below the spillway before I went above it...Made just a short cast up towards the fast water at the bottom the spillway...The size 9 panther martin silver blade/body..Barely hit the water and I thought it was hooked on a branch and I gave it a tug and the branch started to move...Slowly....The water is only about 12 inches deep...Its back came up out of the water...It erupted...It ran right at me...I reeled as fast as I could...Guided it towards me...It went up on its side...Right in front of me...6 second battle...A little anticlimactic...I have been chasing her for three years...I let her go...She had lots of battle wounds...She swam off slowly and I smiled so big that I almost broke my face!!!!
