Went to DNR rip rap project to check it out recently...Spooked a large trout out of manmade hole....Went again yesterday...Crawled up to hole...Threw panthers...husky jerks...little cleos..mepps..rooster tails...Finally got digusted and went back to truck and started digging through my box...There staring at me were the flies that Super Chub had tied for me....I tied on the one he called The Big Brown Slayer..Put a clear bobber on and floated through the hole...BANG...Had her on...Only about 10 seconds...But first large trout on a fly...She spit the fly...23-25 inches in length..Fat girl...5-6 pounds...Thanks again super chub...

Allen,

I don't know what it is, but its probably in Wisconsin.

Spinner, you probably would have caught her if you had a barb on that hook. http://www.georgia-outdoors.com/ubbngto/smile.gif

Ah yes! Never better than to hear someone catching one on a fly you designed and tied yourself! (only better if you caught the fish yourself of course!) Thanks, Spinner! You made my day! Eg...you just need to lay off the Spinner man! I'm trying to get him started flyfishin' the right way! Barbless! http://www.georgia-outdoors.com/ubbngto/smile.gif http://www.georgia-outdoors.com/ubbngto/wink.gif(that would be your cue Night Owl http://www.georgia-outdoors.com/ubbngto/smile.gif. Go get em Spinner! High stick and tight lines!

Isn't a "hoochee" a woman of questionable morals? http://www.georgia-outdoors.com/ubbngto/wink.gif

Its my longer version of the Chattahoochee or "Hooch" since im trying to obtain my "yuppie" status and just can't seem to make it there .I think its my white 89 -1 ton van "The Art Mule "or it could be my cravings for pigs feet and runny eggs thats holding me back. http://www.georgia-outdoors.com/ubbngto/wink.gif Good Hunting

Had you thought of leasing an SUV and hanging out in Buckhead? That oughta do it. Oh, and make certain you show up on the river wearing plenty of Orvis stuff. Image is everything! http://www.georgia-outdoors.com/ubbngto/wink.gif

Hey thanks for the advice BeeDub.I tried to get one of those new fancy Range Rovers with all the bells and whistles but they wont let me have it on the 40 bucks a month program for 30 years.Buckhead? They only serve that Zima stuff down there I heard. No Pabst Blue Ribbon and Penrose hot sausages on the bar or pickeled eggs or knucks.Man I love that new Orvis Trident 906-2pc -6wt rod though.Im saving my money for that one hopefully by the time I get ready for it I wont have to pay more for the new and improved 1406 model.I do have an Orvis zinger I found at JB and its been a good one .If had all the fancy toys that I wanted I don't think it would change me to bad.Its possible that I might refer to the Chattahoochee river as just the "Chatt" to keep up with my new image. http://www.georgia-outdoors.com/ubbngto/wink.gif Good Hunting

Gray Ghost, if you're a fan of beer, Penrose hot sausages, and pickeled eggs, you definitely need to join us on the next group trip to the Nantahala. You are clearly our kind of people.

BeeDub I should be ready for the next group "nanta "festival.I have read all the threads on the trip and you guys and gals are having to much fun to miss the next outing. I do make a pretty serious "Italian Sausage pasta bake" but I have been known to snore and cast in my sleep but only on full moons.I have never worked the "Nanta" I look forward to it.Good Hunting
