Do you really want me to bust that bubble? http://www.georgia-outdoors.com/ubbngto/wink.gif
Hard to tell from the pic(the tail section is a little fuzzy) - but he (or she) appears to have a less than perfect tail..split and rubbed....then again, the colors are good, but I suspect not "full blown" so maybe the spawn was underway..in the middle of summer.
Now don't you go getting mad at me...... http://www.georgia-outdoors.com/ubbngto/smile.gif
I'm not trying to be mean....but you seemed to want to know the truth about whether this fish was wild or not, on the other post....
It is hard to tell, even in person, and JahLive! and I deemed a big brookie he caught in NC to be wild for a few weeks, but the more I thought about the condition of the fish, and the circumstances, and the season.....I am sure is was a stocker that migrated upstream form the stocking point.
From a picture I can only guess. Either way, this is a nice brookie and would be welcome in my hot coals any day! http://www.georgia-outdoors.com/ubbngto/smile.gif
I can't wait to go back to NC and catch two from the lower you know what and put them between two pieces of white bread and eat them all up.
Ahhhh.....now I'm hungry....too.
Hope you can understand how this is coming off my keyboard, SuperguRL. If not, I'm sure there wil be a class-action suit you can join, soon. http://www.georgia-outdoors.com/ubbngto/wink.gif

First of all, that is an awesome looking fish flygurl. Thanks for sharing your trip with us!
Now then, I am a bit disgruntled about Owl's reply to Flygurl's post. If she says the fish is wild, then that is good enough for me. I know Flygurl and she is a great flyfisher and is always willing to share information about the sport to others.
I am really sick of Owl replying to every post casting a "I know everything and you are wrong" attitude to other folks. You are not the final authority on stocked or wild fish. You write like you are the only one on this board who is capable of catching a wild fish. If you did not catch it, then it must be stocked. WHATEVER!
Believe it or not, I have actually heard from other people (yes and even Flygurl) that you are a pretty nice guy. I would like to see some of that kind of attitude spill over into this board. You are just giving off way too much negativity with the majority of your "tongue and cheek" replies.
I really enjoy the information I get from other anglers on this board and I am willing to share what information I know to gladly help someone else out - hopefully in a positive way.
BTW, I don't plan on replying anymore to this post and I don't want some huge blown out of proportion argument started over this. I just get a bit fed up with some of these post and felt I had to reply to this one in particular.

Krashaon, YOU said it!!!!!!!!!!
Nobody ever said this, but it was long overdue. You'll probably be slammed and so will I, but the truth was spoken.
Thanks -
Fred

Simmer down. The problem with this type of medium, once again and I've said it over and over, is you never get the intonation and inflection of the writer. Me thinks you are too hard on Owl.
PS- Flygurl- Beautiful fish!

Just thought that you all should know that Owl and I have been discussing offline. I pointed out that this was photo was not processed well (note the color of my hand) and the colors were true and bright.
I do not believe that I am speaking out of turn when I tell you that Owl apologized.
Well, when I post more about this trip, I think that I wil start a new thread.

I think you're rising to what Owl's casting.
fly on the wall
Native to another watershed. Stocked here in Georgia. A holdover for 15 seasons. Used to be wild, now I'm just tired.

Ahhh...it's nice to have new members that have never met me come on and give me the ol' one two. A year ago, I'd have blasted you guys( no offense, that's just the way I was..) but now, in my old age...I've mellowed enough to tell you that you simply do not know me enough to know my intentions. And yes, to clear things up, I will tell everyone that I apoligized for jumping the gun in thinking that Fly was trying to pull one over on us( "me", if you so choose to see it.)
Also, I'd like to say that I know plenty of folks that catch wild fish.
Krash, it seems like you think I'm downing someone.......and I haven't the foggiest idea of who it could be....I just assumed that this pic was related to the question posed by Flygurl on another thread. We all know what happens when you assume, though, and it looks like it has happend to me.
I think I must be the most misunderstood person in the history of NGTO........ http://www.georgia-outdoors.com/ubbngto/wink.gif Is there some sort of trophy for that? http://www.georgia-outdoors.com/ubbngto/smile.gif
FOTW.......I never cast to ( may I , Driftie? )"fellow fishheads"....I shoot straight, unless it's 3 am.......then you might see goofy, but never any deception from me.
Anyway, sorry. I believe I said it was a nice fish.....didn't I? http://www.georgia-outdoors.com/ubbngto/smile.gif

Owl looks at his screen through his sally hanson induced fog and types
"I shoot straight, unless it's 3 am.......then you might see goofy, but never any deception from me."
Since when do you wait until 3 am? Is this something new? http://www.georgia-outdoors.com/ubbngto/wink.gif http://www.georgia-outdoors.com/ubbngto/wink.gif

Great fish! But what's the fly you have pegged to your handle?
Hey, it was good to meet you at the clean up. Hope to see at JB sometime soon. Oh, next time take it easy on me.

It was a 16 or 18 red humpy with a 16 Pete's Pheasant Tail dropper - all of the flies for the area we fished were small attractors - most fish took on the dries, very few on the nymphs.
