Well, I had what I hope is a once in a lifetime experience today at the Dam. Was walking across some rocks in swift current when my foot got stuck for a second. Thought nothing about it and kept on. A few minutes later my right foot is feeling every rock in the river. I wade to a large exposed rock and sit down and guess what. My right boot is gone. GONE. Good thing I was not wearing those Chota's that everyone is talking about and I have been drooling over. Now I am in the middle of the river with one boot. I wade bback where I think it may have come off but no luck. Anyway, it's time to go home before I lose something else, LIKE MY SANITY. Nothing like trying to traverse those rocks with one foot surrounded by a slick wader stocking foot! Of course, 10 feet from the bank I had to slip and take a tumble so now I am wet.

I like to wear flip flops when I'm not planning on doing any serious wading like in a lake or something. I was fishing at Sandy Creek in Athens last year and got my fly stuck in a stump about 10 feet from shore. I walked in to the water to get it unstuck, and stepped in a hole. When I pulled my foot out, the flip flop was gone. There was so much silt I couldn't see a thing so I stepped back and reached in to the hole, and I swear the flip flop wasn't in it. As I stepped back though, my other one got sucked off and disappeared too. I waited on the bank until all the silt cleared, but never saw either flip flop again http://www.georgia-outdoors.com/ubbngto/frown.gif

They didn't tell you about the spotted boot eating rock trout? You have to hop on one foot and sing Dixie at the top of your lungs before entering the water to break this rare fish's spell over your footgear. If that doesn't work, go to Wal-mart -- they sell a repellant spray, I think they keep it in women's lingerie. Just go to that dept. and ask anyone for help...
