The Smith Creek work day has been scheduled for Saturday 17 April 2004. The Tailwater Chapter, along with DNR, is sponsoring the work day. As usual, the chapter will be providing lunch for all participants. Many of the DNR management group show up, so this is your time to hob nob with the decision makers. Lee Keifer has been there every year and Jeff Durniak shows up to "supervise" http://www.georgia-outdoors.com/ubbngto/smile.gif.
Work project has not be determined yet, but expect a full day of work. Smith Creek fishers have benefited from this annual event. The diversions in front of the cabins, removal of the beaver **** , the treatment pond hole, and the erosion control boxes have been the result of TU involvement on this creek.
Volunteers, we need you. Please post here in order to plan for food. Also, the work force sets the tone for the project. Any assitance will be appreciated. Who knows?, you might learn some secrets about the water. Right James?
Duane and James are in. I know Rocket will show up. Heck, just having one on one time with Rocket will increase your fishing. He is absolutely the best small water fisher I have ever met.
I'll post more as we set the project goals up.
