Hey guys!
After having such a good time last year, my wife asked if I wanted to do the Upper Hootch again in Helen. Uh, Yeah!!
So I wanted to ask how the fishing has been above town, and what I should bring with me, fly-wise.
Thanks! I'm planning on stopping in on Sunday.

Steve,

Water's been getting way too warm for us lately and we're not fishing in the afternoons at all. If you're going up above town, the further you go, the cooler the water will be. Fishing should be good with terrestrial patterns; ants, beetles, etc. Up there always have some yellow humpies, EHC, Adams and Royal Wulffs. For nymphs, try Tellicos and pheasant tails. Good luck. See you Saturday.

I fished in town Friday, from the Hamby St. bridge downstream and caught a bunch of stockers. Most were in the 10-11" range, good colors and strong, better looking fish than past years. Water temp was about 65 early in the day, and the tube hatch was coming off regularly after 10:30, though the trout didn't seem to mind the pink donuts. They were taking ptails, buggers, y2k, some dries and soft hackles, gotta love them soft hackles. http://www.georgia-outdoors.com/ubbngto/wink.gif
Good luck to ya.
