John_rr typed,
"We had success fishing Redfins and poppers in the dark. The Redfins were retrieved slowly enough to keep them on the surface, yet still keep their wobble. Fishing something similar might work once the stripers run upriver. The dam was not generating power at these times, so there was a minimal flow."

I just picked up a magazine at the Fish Hawk titled, "Warmwater Flyfishing" $4.99 . There are a few articles regarding striper and b****fishing with the flyrod:
*A Field Guide to B****Flies
*Making Fly Rod Lures
*Painting and Finishing Cork Bugs
There is also an article regarding flyfishing for "Wipers". I've never heard this terminology but apparently it is a cross between a White B****and a Striped Bass.

The jury is still out as far as a subscription to the mag. I haven't had a chance to read much of it. It looks like it has potential though.

This is not an endorsement, I'm not affiliated with it, usual disclaimers apply, your mileage may vary, etc

Drifter,
"Wakin a Redfin" like John described as a common striper technique. They even use it on Lanier, and I can verify that it works. In fact, I've caught stripers behind Morgan Falls using that technique. You gotta be patient though because the striper sometimes misses the bait two or three times, and ya gotta keep wakin it till you get a solid hookup.
The term "wiper" was coined and used only in Florida. Here in Georgia, we call them hybrid, and if you've never caught one, your in for a surprise. A 5 ponder will rip 25 yards of line off your rod before you can say "wiper". They have a spring spawning run, and most of them will stop at Franklin, but there are some that move up river to Yates. I've never seen them at Morgan Falls though.

Sounds like an interesting magazine. Bring it with you sunday.
