Coosa River

Went to Mayo's Bar (Lock and Dam) Sat. morning, thought if I got there early enough I might be able to toss a wooly bugger at some crappie. The crappie run is on full tilt the fisherman were shoulder to shoulder I couldn't get close to the river with my flyrod so I packed up and went to downtown Rome at the levey to try my luck there. I did manage 3 nice fish but I dont belive the fish have moved up that far yet, perhaps another week or so.

Thanks for your update. Things are really starting to bust loose. I've got to get up there and fish the Lock and Dam sometime.
It's a phenomena.

I can remember my father taking me to the lock way back before Weiss dam was built and catching them on a small gold hook (no bait)
