According to my trusty Astro Tables (as published in BA$$ Master), this weekend is supposed to provide for excellent angling. On a scale of 0-100, it's at 84 today and 92 tomorrow with a new moon in perigee happening. I plan to fish a new lake this afternoon and a good ol' standby tomorrow. This "new" lake has some pretty large gators in it, and I'm taking a yankee friend who has never seen a gator in the wild. It's mating season for gators, this might get "interesting" indeed!

Anybody else plan to do any warm water fishing this weekend? All this talk about trash fish has me in the mood to catch some trashfish, too.

There's a man up on Lake Lanier (Jack ???) who was featured in GON not long ago about gar on the fly. He had made a board with a "vee" cut in it that you could stand on, put the gar's head in the vee and rip out the rope lure with no harm to the fish. It even had pictures of him demonstrating this technique.

My wife and her mother are trout fishing today http://www.georgia-outdoors.com/ubbngto/smile.gif or http://www.georgia-outdoors.com/ubbngto/frown.gif, I can't decide which. The good thing about that is...... I don't have to mow the yard or anything else resembling work this weekend...just fish fish fish http://www.georgia-outdoors.com/ubbngto/smile.gif.
the bad thing is, I'm not trout fishing http://www.georgia-outdoors.com/ubbngto/frown.gif.

Anyway, this is looking like an excellent weekend to hit the area lakes (the ones with no skiiers in them, that is).
