Can somebody give me directions to Sprewell Bluff from Thomaston? The smaller roads aren't named in the Atlas & Gazetteer... Also, can you recommend a good meeting spot so that I can find the Professor on Saturday? Any good good spots and/or fly suggestions you might want to make would also be appreciated http://www.georgia-outdoors.com/ubbngto/biggrin.gif Thanks in advance.

achja,

take hwy 74 west from Thomaston. A few miles outside City Limits and you'll see Old Alabama Road on your left. Turn here. (Note-There is a green "Sprewell Bluff State Park" sign at the turn. Go about 4 to 5 miles to the dead end and your there.

I would encourage you to go by Flint River Outdoor Center at hwy 36 (706-647-2633) and rent a canoe and use there shuttle. The shuttle leaves the center at 0900 and 1400 hours. They will drop you at Sprewell Bluff. It's about five miles down river to the outdoor center. You'll go through some beautiful areas with good fishing!

Drifter,
Look at some of the updates on the gar fly before you start tying.
When are we going?

What's the correct Southern pronunciation of "Sprewell" and "Lazer"? Someone told me "spree-well" was incorrect...and I won't hazard a guess at Lazer.

achja,

Having grown up on near that river, I have heard it pronounced different ways. The locals pronounce Sprewell as Sproo-wool, and Lazer is pronounced Lye-zer.

Drifter..pronounced Driff-terr http://www.georgia-outdoors.com/ubbngto/wink.gif
