I was impressed so I'm giving a plug. I noticed the other day that my local Kroger has a special edition of Florida Sportsman called "Redfish & Trout Annual Edition" that came out the other day.

So good I actually bought it instead of standing in the aisle as I usually do. http://www.georgia-outdoors.com/ubbngto/smile.gif

I mention this because redfish and trout are probably the most compatible fish on the Georgia coast when using the same techniques as trout fishing.

Alot of good info and numerous techniques to go after these fish. Not too much on flyfishing but who cares http://www.georgia-outdoors.com/ubbngto/smile.gif (just kidding). It does show alot of the where, when and how of fishing the shallow water. Although geared toward Florida, the Georgia coast is pretty much exactly the same as northeast Florida.

Hope this helps.

Have not seen this new issue yet but FL Sportsman is as good as it gets in periodicals. A note to those of you who may have an interest in pursuing these species... I live on the FL gulf coast, on a river, five minutes from salt water by boat. One might wonder why I log on to NGTO. Well, I have a serious trout fishing (salmonid) jones that kicks in every year when it starts getting "Africa Hot" down here and N GA is 6 hrs drive time from my house. But most of the time I "settle" for Reds, Specks and whatever other brutish characters I come across. I'll leave it at that, for now... If I can be of service or answer any questions re: reds or specks feel free to email me at captfredfish@hotmail.com
see you on the h2o

I'm pumped. Just reserved a spot next month with the Robinson Bros. charter out of Apalachicola for some flats fishing, ostensibly for tarpon and tailing redfish. Robinson Bros. was featured in June issue of Outdoor Life. Check out this site for daily catch pictures. http://www.flaredfish.com

Drifter,
Absolutely... the reds are chasing bait like mad dogs and if by "Drum" you mean Black Drum, I'm sure we can work that out, too. Big crevalle are cruising around everywhere; They annoy me because they take too long to land. Anyway, Email me when you get a chance and we'll discuss it. captfredfish@hotmail.com
