Bill, recently a friend brought up the subject of private property and streams/rivers.He was under the impression that he could float or wade through a section of river that had privately owned property on both sides.

With the landowners permission, he sue can. Without it he is most def. TRESSPASSING. http://www.georgia-outdoors.com/ubbngto/smile.gif Just thought I'd beat Bill to the punch. He's prob. busy stocking " selective feeders" in the Hooch!

If the stream has been decleared "navigable", your friend is correct, but most streams in north Georgia are too small to bear commerical traffic, therefore not "navigable". If a stream is not navigable, the landowner owns the streambed and you would be trespassing

The stream must be recognized as navigable. I've looked for a list, but haven't found one yet.
