I ran into a guy yesterday who claimed the DNR "wished we would kill more browns as they're taking over." Any truth to this? I certainly have no problem with the browns dominating the hooch tailwater if they survive the summers better (as they should). If there's an issue with mostly browns it's probably only that once acclimated they may be harder for the anglers to catch... which is also fine by me (but then I am a derned fly-fishing snob!).
I kill about one fish a year intentionally, but if there is reason, for the good of the fishery, to take more, I'll do it.
