Mr. Couch:
I just moved to DC and was talking to a friend at work that said that MD does not allow fishing on streams for one week after they are stocked. I guess this allows them to disperse. Would that help or hurt or neither? Has it ever been considered by DNR in GA? I know there would be some upset truck chasers!!!

Chris,
In most instances when Ga DNR stocks catchable trout, we hope they will be caught.
Delaying the harvest will decrease the
percent of fish that are returned to creel.
Helping or hurting is very relative. We measure our success in most streams by the number of trout caught vs. the number stocked.

and most of the popular sreeks are stocked weekly, so it'd be hard to run that type of program, I would think......hope that's not incorrect. http://www.georgia-outdoors.com/ubbngto/smile.gif
