did you guys at the DNR stock fewer Brown Trout in the Hooch tailwater than in past years? It seems like I'm catching many more Rainbows than Browns, even this late in the season. Just curious.

I agree with your observation, there are days when I still catch more rainbows than browns.

I think DNR has stocked more rainbows this year than in the past.

Last year my brown trout catch rate was near 100% in the late summer and fall.

This year I am still catching nearly 60% rainbows at this time of year.

Hope this helps.

Me too, but I'm also catching younguns - 4" bows. If they don't stock 'em this size, then they are reproducing.

Don't you know a Red Horse Sucker when you see one? Or did you just snag somebody's Rapala?

You know Ole Man, you could be right!

Since that post, I've caught another smaller one. I measured this one - 7". Well, I guess that could have been a stocker. 'Ya think?

Could have been an "ooops!" stocker. I have seen them stocked that small( in a pod of 12"ers). All I know is, they'll need to do some good stocking of big bows and browns in the DH water this winter to keep my butt in GA.
