I fished just below the dam from about 6:00 to 9:00 last night, caught 4 on a BH prince. They all were caught either when the prince was hanging in the current with tight line or when stripping. I think they were hitting caddis pupa or emergers. Anyone fish there lately and do you know what they are hitting.

Micheal et al.,
I fished last night just downstream from the boat ramp...there were only a few other guys out there...were you the guy just down from me and my pal steve...I was wearing my large grey stetson...the guy just down from me had on a shallow brim, kaki hat....

anyway to your question...like I said in my post earlier, I used grhe all night--same *****fly the entire time...they were taking them on dead drifts and on the swing or with a twitch somewhere in the middle...wasn't way techinical but certainly wasn't easy stocker fishing.

As far as what they were taking them for, your guess is as good as mine. I think they were just hungry and my flies looked like natural food. I saw a few bwo's flying about but no caddis....there wasn't a single hatch to speak of.

I usually catch most of my fish up there on attractor patterns: grhe, woolies or soft hackles...hell I catch most of my fish everywhere off the same....Like anyplace...how and when you catch fish depends as much on your comfort level with your fly and the proper way to fish it, as it does with the willingness of the fish to take an imitation for any kind of bug.

Hope this helps..

I won't be able to make it tonight...two nights in a row...a no no for a third with a pregnant wife and a 2 yr old who miss me, and whom I don't mind hanging out with.

Michael,

when they hit my indicator, I go to the surface, and consider they just communicated with me. I usually find they are looking up. Surface can be dries or emergers in the flim.
