I'm planning a trip for this week and the Hoochcam is still down--
Is it clear yet?

Fished Saturday morning and it was only slightly stained. I would venture a real strong guess that by now it's very clear. If gin-clear is really critical let me know and I can run by tonight or early tomorrow morning as JB Park is not too far from the house.

Barry - got bored and the doq was getting a little antsy - so we took a walk and it seems like your fishing trip to the 'hooch should work out fine. Water at JB Park is high right now with only a little of one rock above the shoals visible (didn't check release time) but it was clear.

Fished The Hooch this afternoon at JB. Water was clear and low. I hadn't been to JB since last year and was surpprised the flow was minimal after the Island to the boat ramp. The trout did not seem to mind. My friends fished out of a kayak most of the time and I was in a tube. We caught a total of ten fish and missed that many more. All small stockers (Bows and Browns). Around 5PM there was a small hatch and I caught several on top. It was an unorthodox method as I was fishing a caddis with a HE as a dropper. I was skimming the fly across surface and they would hit the dropper 75% and the dry the rest of the time. On two occasions I had two fish on but only brought one in each time. Tons of fun, and I think I converted to nonfisherman to trout afficionados (sp?). Will be back on Wed or Thurs to try again.

Just took a peak during lunch at the Gwinnett side of Jones Bridge. Water looked clear and wadeable. There were a couple of people down by the rock near the Fulton side. Other than that, just a few fishing on the bank. We all need to have a talk with the guy that invented work. http://www.georgia-outdoors.com/ubbngto/smile.gif
