I was curious to know how to pursue a FFF certificaton. I have a passion for casting and would love to learn how to become Certified. Thank You, Luke Mullins

The Federation of Flyfishers offeres a certification program. There is a written test and then a practical performance test that includes casting skills and "explain and demonstrate" teaching techniques. Funny you ask about it this now as Flycast and I are taking our Masters instructor certification in Gulf Shores this week. Go to the FFF website and to instructors certification for a complete list of all the casting performance requirments. The oral and written testing requirements are more vague, and on the Masters oral anything is fair game including fishing for all species, knots, history, casts, flies, equipment, teaching, etiquette, etc...The basic certification is fairly straight forward casting and teaching casting.
Hope it Helps,
Scott Swartz

Hey, Scott!

Just wanted to offer my congratulations on you and Flycast for your Master's certification! Only two in Ga, as I understand!

Drop me a line if you got any vacant spots in your casting class.. I'm just about to the point where I've learned enough to know what I don't know(does that make sense?) and I could use a tune-up.

Anyway, Thumbs up!, guys. Not an insignificant achievement, from what I hear...
