I was afraid that Turkey Season was going to be a bust this year until Sunday am. Taylor County was very wet this weekend. Birds didn't come down until 9:30 or so, had been gobbling from the roost for about 30 min, thunder clap, then he flew down and made his way across the field away from us. We cut around and hauled it through the woods to head him off. Crawled throught the muck on our bellies for about 75 yards. Posted him up, a couple of soft purrs and he was headed our way. Tale of the tape: 23 lbs in the field, 11 inch beard, 1 1/4 inch spurs. Big ole Tom.
