Belvedere,
I am hoping you've gotten a couple of replies trying to help you with your confuser problems.
You may want to check out this thread from a couple of days ago. http://www.georgia-outdoors.com/ubbngto/Forum23/HTML/000241.html A lot of good info there.
I would start with Downloading and running spybot and adaware and then defragmenting your hard drive. That seemed to clear up a lot of the crud in my computer.
Let us know if you have any questions.

Jojagog is correct.
Those are your best starting options. Install Ad-Aware Se and a program called spy-bot Search and Destroy. They will remove all of the nasty spyware, browser hijackers and malware from your pc. You can also clean out your "Temporary Internet Files" etc.
One tip on running the defragmentor on your PC. This is especially true with Win2000 and XP. Start from a powered off state. Power on the PC and press F8. This will bring you to a startup menu. Choose the option for "Safe Mode", after it has finsished booting up, it will look a bit different but that is OK. Now you may run the defrag program. This way it allows the program to run quicker and more efficently. Safe Mode is just a way of booting up your PC with a miniaml amount of drivers.
You could also be running low on drive space or have RAM that is going bad. If your Hard drive (generally the C: Drive) has less that 1/4 free space, you may want to consider getting a bigger drive.

Here is a page to download just about every anti-trojen, malware, spyware, and adware. It takes a while to open. Do not limit yourself to one or two programs, I have found out that some programs takes care of things the others do not.
