Cheney won hands down.
Whose hands are you refering to Dennis? http://www.georgia-outdoors.com/ubbngto/wink.gif
He had a decent opponent tho! That young trial lawyer did ok, but Dlck was the master!
I agree but if I talk on this thing it might disapear...just kidding..Cheney was great did better than Bush....although I would say you could read my topic about that but it mysteriously disappeared.... http://www.georgia-outdoors.com/ubbngto/wink.gif

Dlck nailed Edwards on service when he said he (Dlck) presides over the senate but meet Edwards for the first time when he stepped on stage tonight!
Dang! That was a heck of a Zing! http://www.georgia-outdoors.com/ubbngto/wink.gif
A few minutes ago at the Hardball sight it was 71-29 in favor of Edwards. THis despite the fact that Chris Matthews proclaimed immediately after the debate was over that Cheney blew Edwards away and the only remaining question was whether the "liberal New York Times" would admit it. LOL
At CNN, it's 77% to 18% for Edwards. About 165,000 votes.
Even Fox News poll has Edwards winning, although by a slim 50-49 margin.

If Cheney did better than Bush...then what does that do to our perception of the President of the United States? Perhaps the Republican ticket should be reversed (some might think it has always been reversed)
I thought Cheney did better on National Security questions, and Edwards came over better on domestic issues. The real debate will be this Friday. But alas, I intend on watching my local high school football team.
Oh yea, I heard that Mrs. Edwards confronted Cheney on his remarks after the debate about "never meeting Senator Edwards", since she claims they visited during a church gathering the other day.
Perhaps the wives of the candidates need to debate. http://www.georgia-outdoors.com/ubbngto/smile.gif
that would be very interesting TV...two women arguing on the debate of politics...isnt that an oxymoron? No I am Just Kidding...I can say that because I am a woman too...i dont want anyone stressed...
Most folks are calling it a draw, which means the believers of both sides will feel validated.
Regarding 'trail lawyers', what are the altunatives to legal representation in a court system? Royalty? Fatwa's from our Christian Imams and Mullas? I thought we did't like totalitarianism and Iranian'esq theocracies?

Nobody slammed trial lawyers in this thread.
However, I think that would be a good thing if "trial lawyer" was not the primary occupation of so many of the people that run our government. The government is not a court(Yeah, I know, the Judicial Branch...that is not my point).

I hoped the VP that started this Iraq planning before we even considered attacking Iraq ( dividing up the Oil fields amongst US companies in 2001) would do better on Foreign Policy.
Domestic Policy he didnt shine too well.
Edwards is a good debater, but Cheney had been in that situation longer and more experienced.
I would say that it was great that Boston Won and the Yankees lost, that the braves have their hands full tonight with Houston ( espeicall if Furcal is in the tank) and that
cheney won the first half'
edwards the 2nd
I agree that Cheney's line about meeting Edwards for the first time last night was a zinger. However, it was untrue.
They were both on Meet the Press with Tim Russert a while back. Tim said he remembers them talking and shaking hands.
Cheney didn't have to lie to get the point across that Edwards voting record in the senate was subpar.
As you listen day-in-day-out to Bush's campaign rhetoric, it becomes more striking just how much his hopes are pinned on slamming Kerry and distorting his record. There are very few positive messages, very little mention of his record as president other than the tired assertions about how well everything is going. And when they do tout their record, it is often with half-baked numbers like Cheney's assertion last night that Bush had created x number of jobs in this year. What that number ignores is that there is still a large net loss of jobs under Bush and that the numbers are trending the wrong way over the past few months.
If the media does its job over the next few days, (don't laugh, it's possible) what will become clear is that **** Cheney has an amazing ablitiy to look the American people in the eye and in calm and reassuring manner tell one whopper after another.

No link? just kidding, thought i would start where we left off....
decfly,
Also, they both attended a prayer breakfast in Washington not long ago and even sat next to each other. Jeez, if you're going to lie, please don't lie about a prayer breakfast. If you want the picture of them sitting next to each other, email me. I don't know how to post it.

They both looked 'Bush' league in my opinion. I'd call it a draw.
Cheney looked bored, as if he didn't care if he got the job or not and Edwards seemed too vibrant and youthful. Hard to believe he's over 50 years old.
I can't wait 'til Friday!
