Ok guys and girls. I have to get out and fish this week. If there is a good day for the hooch this week in the DH area, I will be fishing in the evening. If the hooch stays high then I will go north on Friday morning. The ami maybe.
There were some guys on here that were going on Christmas eve. How did you guys do?
If anyone wants to go with me or meet up with me, let me know.
I'll keep updating this post with river and weather condiditons.
Hey ST....
I'm right there with ya. I have to work some this week but my hours are pretty flexible. I have had my eye on the gauge but it looks like they are playing red light, green light every time I was thinking of going to the Hooch DH. Have had a killer time this year when the water is down. Never fished the Ami and have always wanted to have someone show me the ropes. Hear it's not safe to fish it alone.
Bottom line...I am open. Let me know when you were thinking.
Slck,
I WAS going Christmas Eve morning, but it was still slightly high so we just made it a long breakfast and didn't go. I rode over Devil's Elbow and the 53 bridge a couple of times and didn't see anyone braving it either. Probably a wise decision, but it was turning clear and the flow was on the lower end of "marginally safe."
Should be perfect by now. Good luck!

I was at the ami yesterday by myself, and it was great. It was my 1st time, so I wasn't sure what to expect. I will be up there again this Friday morning, bringing a buddy who is pretty new to the sport. I think we will be at steele bridge - that is where I saw everyone catchin fish. Yesterday I had tons of bits, but they were gone before I could get them to the net - darn barbless hooks. Hope to see some of my fellow NGTOers up there.

I like the Ami more on the 53 end. I was hoping to try and float down it from Steele Bridge too 53 in the new pontoon boat I did'nt get for Christmas. Guess that will be this spring. Not really positive you could take a pontoon down it but it might be fun.
Hopefully the water generation will cooperate and we won't have to drive as far. Keep your fingers crossed.

I was hoping that DH may come back down to fishable levels for Friday too. MBA, if you head that way, let me know, and any of you other guys too - It's always good to meet some more troutheads !
Sorry guys but with all the excitement I forgot about a very important appointment on Friday. Wife is pregnant and I get to see the soon to be on the monitor for the first time. Missed the first ultrasound because of work, can't (and wouldn't want to) get off the hook because of fishing.
If the water is (ever going to be) down and you guys fish in town, I may be able to join you later. Let me know what you guys plan.
Thx,
GB

No generation for Tommorrow. If the DH section is low, I will be at White Water Thursday afternoon at about 3pm.
I will be there to join ya, ST. But that site is showing generation now but it should be comeing down by then.
Do you float or wade. I do both but given the limited daylght, it may have to be wading. Look for me in a light blue-grey Toyota.
John, you going to be able to join us?
Thx,
GB

Do these guys even know what they are doing?
They post a no generation scheudle. Then they change it to say they WILL be releasing. I have been calling Morgan Falls info line for 3 days. It has been stuck on 12/23 - 12/26 for days. Now that it is Thursday the 30'th, you call and you can get the info for the 29'th. What gives?
Don't they understnad that have a very large number of anxious fisher people just itching to fish. Do they not feel compasion for those of us with a terrible yet fullfilling addiction? ARGHHHH!
I guess I will be dragging my but northward on Friday is search of good water.
I'll keep my eye on the guage today with the greatest of hopes that the water wil subside for the DH area. :(

Sure thing Flee. If the Dh does not look good for this evening, I will mso tlikely be going to the AMI on Friday. I have to be back in Acworth for a New YEars Eve party at 8pm, so I have to be back at my house in Dallas by 6 at the latest. Brian may be going along. I'll give you a call and let you know.

I saw 2 guys out a White Water fishing at 12:30. The water was high but they said they had a few takes. If it keeps dropping, I will be there at about 3:15.

Not even going to complain.
An Ami trip is set for Friday. Just finished chiseling it in stone. Looks like Myself, Flee and CoolSc8p. Anyone else?
Will most likely be starting at 53. They have moved the parking area but I should be parked just up the gravel road from the old area. After lunch I want to try and hit the Steele Bridge.
Look for a Pewter Chevy Blazer.
