Yesterday I got up early and went to Smith's Creek, in Unicoi State Park. Went to my fav hole and caught 11 in 1.5 hrs. Decided to go back to the cabin and get my grandchildren and wife to share the fun. Here's some pictures. We got 5 more in 45 min, Being a Grandad and Loven it!

Excellent pic. Looking at good fishing pictures is almost as fun as fishing......almost. Glad you had a great day with the little ones.

Yep that your worm hole. lots of your tackle still hanging in the trees, or was it Brent's tackle, Anyway, if I was tall enough I could fill up a vest. Mike

those are great pics, Mike. How old are your grandchildren? I can't wait until my 16 month old grandson is old enough to go fishing (I figure sometime between the time after he learns to talk a little but before he's out of diapers). Seriously, what age is good to start them? Four? Five? Happy New Year!

I believe I saw that place today! Things were a little slow today up there, but it sure was beautiful. I caught a brown in the 16-20 inch category. Man was that awesome! Hope everyone else I saw up there today had as much fun as I did.

Daniel is 5 1/2, A year ago I took him to rainbow ranch, the local pay and take trout pond on Hwy 20. how ever when I told him the other day before we fished that we would catch and release, he got me back by saying, "you mean we don't have to pay to catch these"? I figured right then he was big enough to catch his own. Kids say the darn'est things.

Looks like the spot where I caught a 14' Brown on my first cast on Monday.

Don't worry, I won't tell anyone where it is! nice pictures, especially the grand kids, (I have 6 of my own)!

I got your e-mail Mike. Don't worry, I'm not ignoring you-- I've been out of town at the cabin on Jocassee all week. I'd love to have a few of those photos on the website. Just shoot me a hi-def version [IP] sometime in early February and I will put one or two of them on the front page of The Modern Angler. Enjoyed seeing the grandkids on the stream having a blast. God Bless.
