With all this warm weather, and santa being extra special to me ( ;) ) was thinking about scheduling some rod time...

SB,

70 degrees this afternoon, water temp of 53 degrees. It must be Spring! Fishing is good. One of our guides, Rex Gudgel, landed a huge brown a few days ago. Over 20 lbs. on his Boga Grip! He's got pics; we'll try to get them on our website soon. Come on up.

Well were heading up Sat morning.. Anything special i should be tying up?? Were gonna fish without Hamp this time. See if he taught us right or not.. Got a question for ya though.. Since we are going without Hamp, does Unicoi provide the 6wt rod for us unguided sports?? I know each of us has atleast a 5wt except for one person, so we may need atleast one rod.. Just wondering.. Thanks...

SB,

Sorry I missed you question the other day. As for the rod, yes we'll loan you a shop rod. As I just mentioned in a post about Dukes Creek, the hot fly this week has been an amber Z-Wing Caddis dropped off the back of just about anything (woolly bugger, egg, Y2K, prince, Tellico, pheasant tail). Noticed some small dark grey stoneflies this past week but never saw fish rising to them. Something to keep your eyes open for though. See you Saturday.

Thanks again Jimmy for the awesome day Sat morning.. All 4 of us caught and sometimes landed some BIG fish. I guided Luke just like i said i would. 30sec with my feet wet, while letting out my line for the first cast, 6" trout eats my fly. I thought of saving him as bait, but released him unharmed ;) 1:30sec into fishing and one of us is in the tree's and the others hung himself.. Oh the agony...lol
Birthday boy Bob fought one well over 25" for over 20 min till he wrapped the line under a rock.. I waved goodbye to Luke on one fish that lead me 2 pools south. There's an art to rock hopping with a 20"+ on your line and having the camera strapped to your side...lol

And last but not least, a thank you and sorry to (Alex)? for losing his net. Hope the new one suit's him. If not please let me know.. Rotten way to end a perfect day :)

Sure wish I could have been out there with you. Sounds like everyone had a great time. Well, maybe Luke would have enjoyed it more if that woolly bugger hadn't embedded itself in his back. Another reason we fish barbless. Sorry about the net; we'll keep an eye out for it. Always good to see you guys. Thanks for your support.
