I am a relatively new member of TU and I haven't been active with my chapter (Tailwater), but I am looking to get more involved this year. I went to the website and checked out the events for January and noticed the Rabun Rendezvous on 1/22. Does anyone have any info on this outing? I plan on going to the meeting on the 25th to introduce myself, but that outing sounds like it might be fun. Looking forward to the responses and thanks.

There is an entire thread devoted to the Rendezvous elsewhere on the board with all the details. Probably the premiere winter outing for trout anglers and a great fun time as well. Of course you have to be up for the rigors of pig pickin' Blue Grass, great food (brown baggin') and plenty of auctions and prizes. Being in Rabun County, make a weekend of it and include the Chattooga DH or maybe a trip to Lake Burton or Nachoochee Bend.

Snake,

As a fellow Tailwater member, you must be more active in our chapter. Duane and the GA Council have a lot of opportunities for us this year. Smith Creek Workday is at the top of our list! After going up there this past weekend and seeing all of the bridges out and how the creek has been rerouted, I am intersted to see what DNR has in store for us.

Rabun Rendezvous cannot be missed. Please make sure to go to represent Tailwater. The link to the thread about the RR is: http://www.georgia-outdoors.com/forum/showthread.php?t=41735
