I saw this on the Frog Hollow Fly Fishing TV show but did not get a chance to tape it and was wondering if you wouldn't mind sharing it with your NGTO pals.

Awesome show!

Mucho gracias

I had no idea that the show aired. Havent seen it myself. As for the fly, its a simple recipe actually. I have to give Steve D the credit for the most part. I just changed a thing or two.

Its basically a nymph-attractor type pattern.
hook: 14 or 16 (I wrap lead wired on the shank for extra weight)
head: red glass bead
Thread: Black 8/0
tail: gray squirrel tail (tied length of hook gap)
Body: peacock herl
Rib: copper wire
collar: Hun Part soft hackle

Happy tying!

I appreciate it Metrela, can't wait to give it a try. I'll e-mail you if I see an upcoming listing for the show.

Somehow I missed this one! Can't take the credit here. What Metrela has tied (changing a clear/silver bead for a red/silver one and hun. partridge in the tail for squirrell) is called a Steve's Illegal. Its creator is named Steve Nagy and I happened to see it in an magazine article by Gene Trump. Its a deadly little beast and is my favorite nymph pattern by far....

Oh yeah, try tying it on a #10 or #12 hook and try it in your favorite bream pond as a dropper beneath a popper......;>
