Simms' private label waders?

I purchased some new waders on EBAY last week. I was very leary, but for some reason ($51), I decided I'd buy these:

After some research, I could only find one mention on the internet of Simms private label waders for Galyan's, and absolutely nothing on "Shaw Grigsby waders". I was very suspect because I didn't think that Simms made private label stuff. Also, who the heck is Shaw Grigsby?

I'm a big fan of Simms waders, particularly their Lightweights, which I've worn (out) for the last 4 years. The EBAY description had much of the same verbage as Simms' Lightweights, including the $199 price and being made with Gore-Tex.

Well I received them today, and they are SWEET! The box has "From: Simms Fishing - Bozeman, MT"..."TO: Galyan's Distribution Center - Plainfield, IN". on the original shipping label. The only difference I can tell is the color and the "Shaw Grigsby Pro Series" label where a Simms label would be. Everything else seems the same, including the outer/inner shell material, stitching, knee reinforcement, suspender clips and the neoprene boots made for right & left.

Anyone else hear of Simms private label stuff? Just curious....

Shaw is a professional Bass Angler on the BASS tour with a TV show on OLN. He's very popular in the bass fishing arena. Good luck those new waders looks like a honey of a deal.

GregLS bought a pair at Galyans a few months back. I believe they had the Grigsby logo. He was not sure, but thought they were Simms. I found a tag on the box he had overlooked--it said "Simms Fly", something like that. Identical to the Simms Lightweights. I think they were $69.

Yep, I got a pair and they are identical to Simms just as you described. Galyan's had 'em clearanced! Regular cost $199 (just like Simms) they were marked $149 with another 50% off that, so $75 looked like a deal to me considering my Orvis ProGuides are beginning to leak around the knee.

I guess since Galyan's has been bought out by ****'s, we may see a few more of these "obsolete" waders on the river. Heads up to you guys looking for some new ones...if I can get my hands on another pair for that price, I'll stash them away for when I wear the current pair out!
