I have broken down and done it! I've succommed to a new G3 Gator Tough Tunnel hull aluminum boat. It is 18+ feet with a 90 yamaha 2 stroke motor.
I am in the process of rigging with a great white trolling motor and some lowrance gps electronics.
Any of you out there with any ideas or expert advice on what else to rigg up with.
I am planning on hitting the rivers for stripers and the flats for reds and specks.
Kent, are you out there. And again any boat owners out there? I am looking for more ideas.
Thanks
Trey Niolon

The first thing you'll need is a partner. I'm available most weekends and evenings. :D
Ahh, the perfect boat....someone else's. Guthook, you jumped in to quick for me. If you are not available I will be glad to volunteer. Especially for the Red fishing. I will even show you some spots down on the Panhandle of FL.

Trey,
Get in touch with Dave Bureau (Hooker on the message board). He put together a "jetboat" back when they were somewhat of a rarity. He has encountered every conceivable problem you might have with a jet rig.

Too cool. A couple of gems from the Long Beach Yacht Club, where I bartended for a year during college:
The happiest day for a boat owner: the day you buy it. The 2nd happiest day: the day you sell it.
boat, definition: A hole in the water that you fill in with money.
A cynical lot, those yachtsmen...

Trey, congrats on the new baby.
Doesn't sound like you are planning to run a jet - don't think G3 makes a jet tunnel.
I'll be glad to give any help I can on specifics. `Sounds like you got it figured - the G3's are pretty much rigged up. My only suggestion would be to carefully "weight" every thing you put on there - weight/displacement becomes critical when you are trying to run skinny.
