Went in Wal Mart a couple of months ago and noticed these combos on clearance at $99, down from $119. Tonight I went in and noticed they were on clearance for $49 along with all of the other Green Mountain stuff. This was at the Toccoa Wal Mart. Thought I would mention it here in case anyone was interested. I wonder if the Wally World association with Orvis didn't work out too well. I thought about getting one just to see how they were but need it like I need another hole in the head. I will be back in Toccoa tomorrow, e-mail me if you would like me to pick one up for you, they only had 2 left and I think they were both 6wts though one of them may have been a 5wt. They also had the Green Mountain Fly Lines for $7. I did buy one of them to try in the pond on a 6wt just out of curiousity.

I was over at Wal-Mart near Gwinnett Mall last week. All their flies, (Scientific Anglers brand), was on sale. They're starting to carry Courtland product. Not sure if any are left, but they were cheap. Small nypmhs and dries were like .50-.75 for a two pack. WB's were $3.00 for a 4 pack!!

I noticed that this store also had received a new shipment of Cortland and Sci Anglers stuff. Had an Eagle Claw rod combo. I wondered if perhaps Wally World and Orvis are parting ways and Cortland and Sci Anglers are renewing. Enigma said the Dahlonega store had a bunch of Green Mountain stuff and speculated that this particular store may not be moving the Green Mtn. stuff. Just curious. At $49 it would almost be worth seeing what the rod combos are like. Looked to be a mid arbor reel already spooled with backing, line and leader and a 9ft mid flex rod. I just have no need for more rods at this point and all of mine are economy models at best so I couldn't see it as an upgrade.
