i noticed simms has come out with a travelling wader that is a mere 129 bucks ..... anyone know anything about these yet ... are they worth the purchase?

We stock them down at the shop, but I've not talked to anybody who's used them. I will say that they are not Gore-Tex, they use 'quadralam' which does not breathe as well nor is it as tough as Gore Tex, .

If you're looking for a lightweight wader for use in backpacking, these are the ones to go with. Otherwise, I'd do the Lightweight or Guideweight. I've used Simms for seven years now and usually put at least 150 days each year on the water. The Guide Weights have never failed me. My girlfriend uses the lightweights (she's not fishing as much as I am) and loves them.

Just food for thought.
