View Full Version : Feather inlay pictures?
Does anyone have a link to some pictures of feather inlay designs? I've seen the one at the BBQ run and thought it was really neat. The only thing I've played with has been a single jungle c*** feather. I'd really like to see what people mean when they refer to "weaving" feathers together.

Hollis - here are a few from Terry Henson, who imo, does outstanding work:

Notice the inlaid may fly nymph and the jewel chain winding check, other ways to personalize a rod:

While on nymph inlays, here's a may fly in the seat cap.

These photos, and lots more, are stored at the archive for the old rodbuilding.org photo site: http://www.fishingphotos.net If you do a search on feathers, inlays, etc, you will get lots of ideas/inspiration. The new sit is still building up, but there are already lots of pictures of some creative work: http://www.rodbuilding.org/photopost/
A couple of other sources of ideas are Bob Meiser's rods: http://www.meiserflyrods.com/ and Russ Gooding at Golden Witch: http://www.goldenwitch.com/
