Anyone use these waders? I have a question about the double layer at the bottom. Does anyone else that owns a pair notice that they tend to fill up at the bottom when the current is swift? There is a small slit between the lay for knee protection and the actual waterproof layer. They don't leak. It just makes them feel heavy in the water.

I was thinking of just sealing the slit but wanted to know if that was the wrong thing to do?

Thanks, Justin

I notice this occurs consistently when I am wearing my gravel guards, I don't think it is quite as prominent without them on. Sealing the slit may be a good idea, I may ask Willie at Fly Box for ideas.

Thanks for the insight. I will give Willie a try.

Mine do the same thing. This is my third pair of siver labels, and probably my last.

I don't think I would seal the slit, as any moisture or dirt that is there would be trapped. You may try opening it up a little more so that it drains better.

I have a pair of the LLBean waders with the similar double leg construction.
If you're going to seal that opening be sure to seal the one at the top as well.

I just looked the the Fly Box website. Someone should tell them to add something about the new Winston Boron IIx! They're missing the boat.
