The National Park Service is sponsoring a clean-up event at Cochran Shoals/Powers Island Recreation Area (I-285 at the Chattahoochee) Saturday April 30th at 9:00AM to 12:00PM.
The event will include several organizations and will concentrate on clearing the trails, removing some non-native vegetation, and planting some native species.
TU will concentrate on removing debris that has collected in the channels between the riverbank and Powers Island. We need volunteers to bring their waders and also a couple of canoes (or similar watercraft) to help with this task.
