OK FOLKS.
Raftie has been so kind to offer to do a stream bio class for us in June. We are aiming for the first weekend.
And we are trying to set up a "chemical" class also.

We need to know the following
a) Who is still interested?
b) Does June 4th work for people to do a bio class
c) Who wants to assist me on Rottenwood?
d) Who wants to assist Endless on Waters?

In essence we are trying to get this bird to fly.. and we need people to man the wings....

So if you are in, please post.

Thank you!

I'm in for Rottonwood. I can manhandle test tubes with the best of 'em. Logistics TBD on stream cleanup but I'm game, even for after work hours when I'm in town working on that side of Atlanta.

People... I just rcvd the following msg from Raftie....

The class I have on the books is May 28, Stream Life, from 10:30am -1:30pm and will be held at Elachee Nature Science Center in Gainesville. The class covers the basics of watershed studies, biological and chemical testing of a stream, what the findings mean and how human as well as environmental factors have an impact on stream and watershed health. All people need are clothes they can get wet in, shoes for a short hike, a water bottle and a sack lunch.

Does this fit peoples schedules? Or do we try and reschedule??

I need feedback people.. positive, negative , I dont care, but we have to open lines of communication.

Drat. I can't do May 28 - we may be out of town for Memorial Day weekend. And if we aren't then it becomes a big honey-dew weekend for me. Not even sure I can squeeze in some fishing.

Still OK for most any other Saturday.

As a sidenote, scheduling for events usually (keyword, usually) works much better if a date is set and those interested will come if they are truly interested. I remember, not too long ago, NGTO was scheduling the Fling and people's schedules kept conflicting. The Fling was nearly two months late, and miserable.

By the way, I am in.

Just an idea.

Don't assume that the low response in one day is reflective of the interest or importance of this project to people. I think a lot of folks may already have plans for that weekend, especially given the late notice.

With that said, I'm interested in attending.

I can't make the 28th (or 6/4) however I'm very interested in helping collect data at Rottenwood. I live in town. Let me know how I can help.

Ok, how does June 4th look for everybody? That will be the only saturday in June I will be free. The 11th I have a daytrip with friends then I leave the 12th for GSMNP where I will likely remain for the rest of the month. I would say lets try to do it this weekend but I will be in TN.
