I called Eagle Claw last Friday and placed an order for the two-piece, 3/4 WT, 7 1/2 FT Rod and it showed up today. Cost was $39.95 with $6.00 S&H.

The reel seat is a bit snug for the flanges on my reel but it works (hot diggity, an excuse to buy a new reel!)
The rod casts much better than my BPS rod; a lot more action, although not as whippy as I thought it might be. I was able to shoot line 30 to 35 feet out in my front yard without a lot of effort; did not really try for longer tosses.
I can't feel it load too well, but I suspect that's more to do with my cast ing style (Harrumph) and less so the rod. Anyway, it was only 20 or 30 casts.
The rod is fairly basic in style - a dark gray with a gray woven graphite reel seat, stainless steel snake guides, a ceramic stripper guide and the traditional carrot-shaped cork handle.
It includes a 1-year warranty against defects but that's all, as you would expect. Bang it against a rock and open up a crack that eventually fails, and you're on your own. But for $45.95, who cares?
Bottom line, this seems like a decent rod - and for sure a great starter rod.
